Rosy Care is a registered NDIS provider, delivering person-centered care, dedicated to making a difference and improving the lives of those living with disabilities. Our goal is to make our participants’ lives easier, fairer and more inclusive by supporting their participation in their community, independence in their homes and helping them achieve their goals in a safe environment.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team, make a difference and have a positive impact in the lives of others.

The ideal applicant will provide essential support to NDIS participants in their home and the community, they will be caring, dedicated and tolerant. We are looking for support workers who have excellent verbal, written and communication skill with a deep understanding of person-centered care.

What We’re Looking For

 

    • Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Mental Health or Individual Support or similar.
    • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably managing high intensity participants with complex needs.
    • Experience with spinal cord injuries is highly desirable
    • Certification in Manual Handling, Medication Administration, and other relevant qualifications is preferred
    • Additional training or experience in catheter care is desirable.
    • Strong communication and relationship building skills, ability to maintain effective relationships and professional boundaries.
    • Compassionate and empathetic, ability to remain calm in stressful or challenging situations.
    • A friendly and bubbly personality, and a creative and open mind.
    • Ability to provide support that is responsive to each person’s individual needs according to their Individual Support Plan, and provide appropriate support to maintain and improve their level of independence.
    • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
    • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
    • Ability to write accurate and complete records, including shift and progress notes, risk and incident reporting

Mandatory Requirements

 

    • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
    • Current NSW Police Check.
    • NDIS Worker Screening Check (for paid employment).
    • Working with Children Check (for paid employment).
    • Australian Work Rights.
    • Fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

What you’ll do

 

    • Companionship – You’ll provide emotional support and a nurturing environment, building strong professional relationships with clients, their caregivers and health professionals.
    • Personal Care – Provide essential personal care and assistance with showering, bowel care, dressing and grooming.
    • Mobility Support – Assist with transfers and movement using appropriate equipment.
    • Access Community – Assist and facilitate social and recreational outings and attend appointments.
    • Meal Planning and Preparation – Prepare and assist with nutritious meals, catering to dietary needs and preferences, follow mealtime management plans.
    • Health Monitoring – Administer medications and monitor health conditions.
    • Household Tasks – Assist with daily household tasks including cleaning, laundry and administration.
    • Transportation – Assist participants travel independently through training and development of skills, providing transportation or assistance using public transport.
    • Records Management – Maintain accurate and organised records and client shift notes.
    • Adherence to Protocols – Working within the NDIS guidelines and Rosy Care’s policies and procedures.
